More than 500 COVID-19 patients in Wisconsin hospitals


The Wisconsin Hospital Association reported more than 500 COVID-19 patients on Aug. 1 — the first time over 500 since March. 

On Friday, the state reported 508 COVID patients in hospitals, but that number reached as high as 522 patients on Tuesday. 

Roughly 16% of COVID patients are in intensive care. 

Hospitalizations have increased gradually in recent months, up 125 patients from a month ago and up roughly 370 patients from this year’s low mark in April.
